NSE Live Stock (Share Price) Data into Excel – Part 3

After a long time, I am updating the blog. Regret for not able to replying to comments (many are still pending for approvals for publish, apologies).

NSE website has changed the access of public JSON URL that we have been using to get the quotes from NSE website into the tool. So this post updates the NSE Share Price tool with the following –

  • Update the NSE Website URL to be used for data fetching
  • Encoding the ticker symbols with “&” (like M&M, COX&KINGS, L&TFH …etc.)

The updated URL is directly linked to the website URL of NSE Quote page instead of the JSON URL used for fetching previously. Though the NSE might have changed the access of direct JSON URL for their web security / access privilege purposes, data-wise access should be open for the public information.

The updated product file can be downloaded from the link – NSE Live Stock Prices in Excel Ver 3 – Portfolio Mangement Through Excel <not working for all the users>

The updated futures file can be downloaded from the link – NSE Futures Live Prices in Excel with Autoupdate ver2 <not working for all the users>

Update :  Some of the users are not getting the relevant data as the direct access of the URL is blocked. So again we have to update to a new URL and also improved the speed of the excel. Just click on the calculate all after you insert the script id.

The updated product file can be downloaded from the link – NSE Live Stock Prices in Excel Ver 4 – Portfolio Mangement Through Excel <updated on 28th May 2017>

Also, users can download the tool of BSE data from BSE Live Stock Prices in Excel Ver 1 – Portfolio Mangement Through Excel

  7. Thanks for the blog Paripurnachari . I have used the URL https://www.nseindia.com/live_market/dynaContent/live_watch/get_quote/ajaxGetQuoteJSON.jsp?symbol=DMART earlier. I am seeing access denied error now. It would be great if you share the NSE/BSE stock quote URL to get the json data of stock.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi
    Thanks for the updated version
However when you click on Add selected ticker it only adds on row B5
This overwrites whatever is already there

    Thanks
    Ninad

      • Sury says:

Hi First of all thanks a lot for giving us the revised version of the spreadsheet. Just wanted to point out that the data is being pulled in an erratic manner. For e.g if I have 10 stocks , 5 are fetching data and 5 are returning an Access Denied response. When I click the Calculate all button , a different set of 5-6 stocks are updating whereas the others are denying access. I tried some options like removing www from the URL string , but no change. Thanks once again and look forward to your suggestions

      • Can you please check the latest and let us know, if it don’t works..

      • Ganesh Ale says:

THERE IS PROBLEM in fetching for “DMART- Avenue supermart”, directly saying N/A

      • Please check the latest version.

    Thank you Paripurnachari…..

  16. Sudha Iyengar says:

    Hello Paripurnachari,
    Thanks for the update.
    Tried Update 4.
    1. The program overwrites the title row while adding new companies.
    2. While using NSE Ticker Lookup, it selects only rows 4 and 5 to update
    3. Cannot add multiple new companies

    Thanks,
    Sudha

    • Sudha Iyengar says:

Sorry…Please ignore the earlier review. There was some problem with my excel.

After re-downloading, there seems to be only one problem. All the required companies have to be added in one go only. Any addition overwrites from Row 5. This creates a problem when you need to add about 50 shares.

As the macro is password protected, would prefer if you could give an option to add below the existing rows.

      Thanks and Regards
      Sudha
